Mother

a poem by Nishith Jois

Mother! Oh Mother!
You are the greatest treasure.
To write on you a poem,
Is my greatest pleasure.
When I was in tears,
You consoled me with cheers.
When I came to have my lunch,
You gave me tasty food to munch.
By my Mom, I was led,
To my sweet little bed.
She tried to tap my head, but missed,
And gave on my cheeks, a sweet little kiss,
I thank you Mom, for all this done,
I’m grateful to you, my dear Mom.
