a poem by Kristen Copper

or six years it has come and gone,
For six years nothing changes,
Those who I once called ‘friends’ stare
and laugh,
For six years I thought things would change,
For six years they always manage
to stay the same,
Walking in the words start to fly,
For six years they cannot grow,
For six years they act as if they
were two,
Leaving cry’n I wonder why
things have stayed the same
for six years,
Can they not find humour in other things,
Maybe it’ll be done in six more years.
