Duet of Endearment

a poem by James Williams

Drawing another immediate and natural
from the depths of one’s self

into our exchange

we becomes the guide to our path
and never the I.

A duet of of endearment
we now lace our paths with delight
and break the bonds of single form,

thinking with two minds
loving with the power of
our survival.

The vessel we drink from
being the truth absolute

And trustee of our souls
forever.
