The Leviathan Sleep

a poem by Deeksha

In my world I lie alone
defaced, depraved and detoned.
The gloomy night with the endless plight,
the one within cries to see a strike of light.
I howl! I screech! Like a ghost in his pride,
on me my hopes my dreams deride.
The soul within is rendered defunct,
a voice within trembles my anxiety grows rampant.
In my liaison with lethargy and decay,
my spirit dies, the price I pay.
My glowering spirit burns like the fierce fire,
ending my joy, my play, my last desire.
In the shadow of sorrow, my black heart sobs on,
for there is no one in this world, I lie alone.
