If I had a choice

a poem by Charu Ramaswamy

If I had a choice between watching a sunrise, or birds soar the skies,
I’d choose above these one moment of looking into your eyes.

If I had a choice between owning the mountain lands, or all the riches known to man,
I’d choose above these one moment of walking and holding your hand.

If I had a choice between riding a sunbeam, or the cress of a shooting star,
I’d choose above these one moment of being wherever you are.
