Searching

a poem by Chameleon

The streets are dark and empty
as I journey through the night.
Searching but never finding
the clues to all my life.

Endless questions call to me
answers they never come.
So I race into the distance
return to where I am from.

Are they really out there
or am I racing with a dream.
Trying to catch a shadow
that never can be seen.

If only answers they would call
the chase it would be over
the race it would be won
I would walk and cease to run.
But endless questions they always call
and answers they never come.
So chase the only way I know
I race into the distance
return to where I am from.
