He led me out

a poem by Benna Rao Goli

I was given a good send off with great affection
To mend my life with deep determination;
With great ambition I landed in the Sultanate
But I could never myself do accommodate.

I felt I’m in lifeless and barren desert,
A time of testing, I couldn’t divert;
But I thought it’s a place of growth
Where God can do a great worth.

From family and friends I feel so distant
My heart is full of thoughts so dominant;
This is the time I felt His flowing Grace
In spite of being in such a desert place.

For quite some time my heart faced drought
In course of time, everything God’s wrought;
Through the darkest moments, He led me out
And from then on everything goes well, no doubt.
