Dialogue Divine

a poem by Aniket Neurgaonkar

As I walk down the memory lane,
I am flummoxed at the lives I’ve led in vain,
what is the purpose of existence?
Why work with persistence?
Why be the slave of the mind?
Why the world is not kind?
Why to desire?
Why to burn like fire?
These questions crop up in my heart
and then the ultimate controller unveils the art,
there’s a realization of crude reality,
which transcends duality,
God says,
it is you who have chosen your ways,
you think of me only when you are in trouble,
and forget me when you are out of the jumble,
I eternally wait for you,
but for you its nothing new,
I created the nature,
you brought down its stature,
I gave you the intellect,
its pointer you gave a negative deflect,
I gave you pure hearts,
you blotched it with indelible marks,
mankind-the masterpiece of my creation,
proved themselves the height of aberration,
to set you right I sent angels and saints,
you gave them ample ferules and pains,
I interrupted god,
he gave me a divine nod,
I desperately questioned Him,
what’s to be done to restore the pristine scene?
purify your inside, burnish it with your devotion,
and harken the inner voice which has unmatchable resonation,
rekindle the dwindling inner light,
make it sparkle and blindingly bright,
let each one near and far away,
be transformed by your inner display,
prove to the world wreathed in darkness,
that an individual can contribute to the universal change in fullness,
those who vociferate my wishes through silent prayers,
are my love-incarnate torch bearers
for they are my true instruments,
who abide by my absolute judgments,
go forth and be real,
arise your brothers from their dream which is ephemeral,
invoke the divine within,
to decipher my true nature which is nothing!,
but behold! from nothing everything originated,
my will and wish is nothing but let the divinity be rejuvenated,
this will pave way to journey infinite,
and my souls will laugh with great delight,
for they long to return to their original home,
where their heavenly father waits with redefined gnomes!
