Warm Heart

a poem by Elaine E. Howie

Under this sun of love
I feel my heart warm
I wish you could feel
The many tones it shows to me

I have nothing to imply
But I know my heart does not lie
So I keep it covered with your hand
And stretch my body to life’s plan

I have remained consoled
By the warmth of your soul
I tremble with the lust
I hold my self-aloof from the rush

I have a warm heart that is true
And I want so much to give it to you
I want to share it with a special friend
One who will hold it in the highest esteem in
The End
