The Killer in Disguise

a poem by Mabel Annie Chacko

For those who have taken it,
It is delicious.
For others,
It is like tasting death.
Some give it a try,
While others say-
“It is better not to try.”
For those who say ‘yes’,
It becomes the gateway to death.
For those who say ‘no’,
It is like slipping into life.
Those who can’t resist,
Will soon cease to exist.
But friends, I tell you,
It is better to resist,
Than to have drugs,
And cease to exist!
