My weary bones have grown so funny on me,
They let me know how long I can go, and then I need rest.
You know I no longer get the privilege of saying oh: I am tired
Wherever I am my body just shut down on me, oh, but to be young again.
Silly me I better get some rest.
I sometimes can tell by the sound of my bones, but it’s now a hit and miss sorta story,
Funny let me see what was I about to tell you… Just let my mind rest
Well as you can see my memory has its own modern technology,
It also shuts down just like a machine some times it let’s me think quickly,
And some time it says I need some rest.
Can you read this; am I spelling everything all right?
Yes, it’s my eyes they double up or they shut up because,
They say I need some rest.
Shucks! I spilled the coffee all down my dress; well don’t say it
It’s my mouth sometime it wants to drink or eat sometimes it’s a real mess,
Like now well I’ll let it rest a while.
Hey, Kat do you smell those greens Mrs. Washington is cooking?
Momma you go on in now and lie down,
That’s Mr. Washington and he is cutting the grass.
You just need a little rest.
Excuse me just let me get the dag’on phone; hello, hello
(Ring, ring, ring) it’s me ma open the door ma
Go on now sit down you need some rest.
All right, all right, I’m going to lay on down here and get me some rest.
The whole world out there wins again,
But that’s all right, cause I’m going away now with my friends.
I know when it’s my time to rest
Just don’t throw roses to the wind because,
This is only the beginning not
The End
