September
A pearl of rain,
On an auburn leaf,
Reflects light and dark
From a sky
Of hastening clouds,
When it let go
A moment of eternity
Comes to an end.
August
Sheep’s eyes
Follow me from
The shade of an
Umbrella tree
When I cross
A yellow field
Sprayed by
August heat
Dry straws
Snap under
My unforgiving
Heels.
