Waters of Faith

a poem by Sidharth Kumar

Serendipity met its end zone
Love definitions making me moan
Nasty cyclones blowing me out of territory
Cuz I didn’t possess a love degree
Dispirited and resigned expression
Coupled with sweet aggression
I Look at the sea shores in dismay
Waters of Faith receding away

Haunting the beach these days is myself
Trying to console the innerself
Towering tides altercating
With the rising air spring
Every chapter of love a betray
This beach sand turning ashgray
I Look at the sea shores in dismay
Waters of Faith receding away

Could the sea tides bend her love for me
And peel the woeful skin out of me
Sailing the aquas wasn’t a merry hardship
Heart sank in this intense courtship
Footprints of ours
Washed away by the sadist river hours
I Look at the sea shores in dismay
Waters of Faith receding away

Doors of Horizon never welcomed with open arms
All I saw were few bewitched charm’s
Captivating me in illusions
Were her beloved delusions
Me a youth of twenty three, a callow
Inexperienced love fate made me feel shallow
I Look at the sea shores in dismay
Waters of Faith receding away

Flabbergasted mind disarrayed
Crusading for love has made me jaded
Wasn’t madness but obsession
From the past three years in succession
Like a pilgrim kept to praying you
Unaware that my words would form a taboo
I Look at the sea shores in dismay
Waters of Faith receding away

She ain’t the right grave
Said one of the dying wave
Couldn’t decode what message was in air
A Storm that had to break this pair
Insouciant and oblivious in my dreamland
Now left were only me and this lonely island
I Look at the sea shores in dismay
Waters of Faith receding away
