War

a poem by

Hemanta Naik

He declared war
I asked against Whom?

He said
against
myself!

I laughed at him
and asked can you declare
war against yourself

He said
Yes

I am hungry
I need flesh of humans
blood to be scattered here and there

Then I said
Yes
then you need war!

Area

a poem by

Hemanta Naik

I ask
what is your area of mind?

City dweller replies
with ego
40 feet x 30 feet!

Villager replies
humbly
ten to fifteen acres, Sir!
