Finally to square one

a poem by Shah Pravinchandra Kasturchand

On the tallest mountain,
From the highest peak;
All around the chilly wind,
In front expanding horizons;
Above the head, the sky
With all its suns and stars;

And down deep below!!

The earth I have lived,
The earth I have seen,
The earth I have loved,
And also I have hated.
So I ran away from earth
To find things more worth.

I looked at the horizons
They did not respond;
I turned to suns and stars
They too broke their bond;

What to do now?
I cannot fly
And reach sky.
Cannot envision
The horizon.

I looked down
To the earth,
I had hated
Where I lived.

With open arms
It drew me down;
I do not know
when and why
It took me
In its fold;
And till now
Cajoles me.

And people say
It will continue
To extend its fold
Till I will end
My relations
With it,
On this earth.

And I am
Convinced.
