Glimpses from a rail journey

a poem by Srijith K Unni A

From looking outside the grill
Did my neck really strain
But for the images of green and thrill
I could easily forget the pain
Lush fields of green and bloom
Trees of green height and lore
Rapidly disappearing as they zoom
For a journey of no more
There the river flows
Among the large dunes of sand
Across my face the wind blows
In god’s very own land
Sit upright! For there rises the mountain of green
Towering above this green foliage stream
Casting an image of the yet to be seen
I sat back dazed by the railway screen
