I have got a story to tell
I will tell and I will yell
It’s a story about money
The money that is not phony
Long ago when man was born
He fed on fruits and on corn
He led his life together in groups
How united they were in their troupes
Together they hunted; together they farmed;
Together they fought with enemies armed
They ate they slept they cried they laughed
But together, together they all flocked
When man’s resources were utilized
As he was not very organized
In search of better land he went
To other lands his sons were sent
As in one place something grew better
In other places it was a jitter
In exchange of dates, clothes were sent
And for gold, sugar was lent
But suddenly there was bitter confusion
To exchange what for what was the tension
They didn’t want clothes for dates
Instead they wanted chocolates
Tension grew so much that
There was a quarrel after that
The wise ones started thinking hard
There should be a way out said a bard
There should be something which all will like
For which no one will fight
Which would be liked by everyone
For which no one could raise an objection
And it was decided they all would allow
A particular piece of brass or gold
To be lent for all the thing
When they purchase anything.
And thus the money was born
A common currency was recognized
And thus, the peace was restored
Then, All lived happily and composed.
