Miss Lucille Moonbeam

a poem by Jan Oskar Hansen

The night was sleeping
dreaming of becoming a day,
just once, when you knocked on my door
wanted to seek shelter in a haven safe.

Coldly I said no,
but my heart was razing so fast
that I had an anxiety attack,
once before I had embraced you totally
and without reservation.

Left me, with a suspicious mind
and ulcers of regrets
that will never heal;
I will not suffer your cruelty again,
but love you endlessly.
