Lion Rain

a poem by Tony Gill

May rain basks in fields of a heart distilled
Soaked in sorrow of the broken sky
If it fall, may we rise to see it once more
For pain is weakness leaving the body
And love is pain settling in
Let it be savored, so we may love, let it rain
Oh please let it rain

We’ll sail to dark waters to find truth
Though our sails be torn, and our mast be broken
Much like our spirits, but we mold in the storm
We find the lion of love on the isle of hope
Let us wake him or we’ll drown in the sea
For a fate of love locks the gate of pain
Weakness is leaving, oh please let it rain
