Inebriated

a poem by Nav Chandi

How does one reach that place that is so great?
How can I reach that inebriated state?
With my method of choice,
certain things help me rejoice.

A drunken state of euphoria;
An intoxicated kiss;
Nature’s beauty around us;
Inebriated bliss.

I can be intoxicated by the beauty of a lady,
or take part in activities that to some may seem shady.
Literature can take me to some far away place;
Reaching such a destination does not have to be a race;
Everyone can arrive at their own comfortable pace.

Getting drunk on “life” is sometimes hard to achieve;
But it can be done, although it is hard to believe.

So, if you find yourself in a coffee shop, recovering from the night before;
If your current method of inebriation is keeping you bored;
Could there be some alternatives that you haven’t yet explored?

This cunning state;
That may convey deception;
Enhancing my mood;
Altering my perception.

The method I finally choose will make me feel so great;
The method I choose to reach this inebriated state.
