Mangoes

a poem by Jayati

Summer
Holiday
Merry
Month of May. Tropical
Noon, grandfather’s salon
Go for a ride, country side,
Mango orchard, full and ripe.
Flesh succulent, delicious scent.
Peel to make a dig, take your pick
Shake it well with milk, add to it ice.
Dress your glass enjoy it’s taste fresh.
Golden fruit, blended good inside.
Yellowish pink, bluish green
Camouflaged skin
The fruity queen.
Her aroma, no one can resist
Actively, arouse every taste buds.
Languora, Alphonso, Begum Bahaar
Endless varieties with beautiful names.
Paradise fruit. Mangoes!
