Decades back we were struggling
To get freedom from British ruling
Who acted as a loyal guest!
But turned out to be a deadly pest.
And they had a cunning idea
To snatch freedom away from India
They came here to sell something
But in fact they took everything.
Our forefathers often used to tell
Life was no better than the hell
They suffered hard and tried their best
And even died to drive out west.
Mother India was calling she was tied
To free her many people died
Getting freedom was their passion
It was their routine to go to prison.
They forced the Britishers to flee
And once again India was free
Along with the people sang the wind
Vande Mataram and Jai Hind.
In everyone’s heart there was a flame
Because of that the freedom came
Today our joy is so immense
As we enjoy our independence.
