Let me not be in too much pride
May I not be taken away for a ride.

Make me do things that are right

With right ambition in my sight

Let me not be swayed by temperament
Make me do my daily assignment
With a sense of duty put into my mind

When I commit mistakes, prick me lord
Punish me on the spot so hard
Behind false face let me not hide
Take away my ego and my pride

I ask you only this, My Lord,
Don’t give me rare gifts or rewards
Give me only what I need for life
