Andaman

a poem by Inchara

Our Journey of love saw its destination
In a island known for torturing martyrs
That’s Andaman, an island of tranquil splendor
Crystal clear backwaters remained untouched by visitors’ mischief
Ubiquitously nature’s resplendent beauty danced to glory
The serene green surroundings cooled the weary eyes
Ancient British relics took us back in timescale
Fresh air triggered new energy in our souls
Cool fragrant breeze caressed warm bodies

Couples snuggled in each other’s arms
Trying to get the best of warmth
Kids died to break free from their parents
And run across the soft sands
Young and old giggled away in merry
Throwing away all their worry
I looked deeply into his charming eyes
Conveying silent love notes
Our hands clasped together, feet hanging in air
Unspoken gesture spoke more than what words could express

Calm night was engulfed by charming breeze
Moonlit sky played sweet melody to the twinkling stars
The setting was perfect for a candle light night
Sensuous mood was nature’s gift to love struck duos
I was lost in the burning love of my dream
Fire of passion was rising every moment
The fervor of darkness never seemed to cease
But the first ray of dawn brought us back to light
Reluctantly we had to bid goodbye
To the island of magnificence and zeal
Although the treasury of memory will last eternally
