Smile

a poem by Swarna

Those charming submissive looks
Which those incantational eyes throw
Made my world a little brighter
Is now filled with sorrow

Those ludicrous words you spoke
Which made me giggle like a child
Gleam of humour had disappeared
Into the darkness to hide

Those which gave me comfort
Caressed my cheeks to cheer
Holding my hands to guide
Why now tremble with fear

No more tears from your eyes
Forget all that make you cry
Can I have your smile – please
Why don’t you give a try
