If love doesn’t really hold a passion,
If touches do not give some sensation;
If looks cannot read the beloved’s heart,
If death be the reason for souls to depart;
If faith cannot be counterparted with trust,
If pure love has to bow in front of greedy lust;
If union is not known as heart’s peace,
If not living in harmony cannot bring a war-cease;
If God’s ways are so difficult to follow,
If all the worldly affairs are mere hollow;
If truth has always to be overshadowed by lie,
If everytime to save humanity, a lamb has to die;
Then I do not wish to live in this uncouth place,
Lift my spirits o Lord, and let me live in peace.
