July 18th – Twenty years

a poem by Jagganathan V

July 18th and the first twenty years of my life I have sailed through,
What I have achieved and what to be achieved I don’t have any clue,
Mischievous and moody, adventurous and atrocious at times,
A gala time I have had, dancing and singing the latest rhymes.

Eyes that admired everything, ears that found every word beautiful,
Infatuation at its peak, never felt life so wonderful;
Thriving on not my money, but generous to the core,
Ecstatic moment always, life has started with such a roar.

These are definitely good to happen, but always wait for the best,
The next twenty years brings it after a round of strenuous test,
Ups and downs, life swings between duties and emotions,
A proper balance opens up new ventures of passions.

All ears and eyes now set on the target, ever committed towards the goal,
A proud and powerful competitor an honest and humble family man, you play a dual role.
These twenty years of sheer hardwork and determination, the real reason of your birth,
Ensures later the renaissance of your first twenty years on this earth.
