They’re lost

a poem by Teesha Guliana

Smoking
I’m dripping
And faking
There’s a shirt that I’m tucking
Into my faded jeans

There’s a guy
That I know
He’s screwed
I’m a fool
But we’re us

There’s me
Who you know
He’s cool
I’m a drool
But we’re us

Smoking
I’m dripping
And faking
There’s a shirt that I’m tucking
Into my faded jeans

And the sun sets
Behind me
I watch it
With glee
I miss the child I was
Before me

But oh the moon frights
And daylights
Those tans, patches, stitches
They’re lost
they’re lost somewhere deep
Somewhere far
Somewhere so close
So close
