Like a Tree in the garden,
Visited by many.
The birds to sip the nectar from the flower,
Some to taste, some to date and some to preserve.
A home to many,
Strong I stand and visited by many.
For it’s the season of spring,
They call the festival of flowers,
It breaks my heart, for I miss my visitors from the far islands.
For I miss to see my visitors,
Who shower their loved ones with the golden dust of my flowers.
For I miss to be shared on Instagram and Facebook,
As rest of my visitors, stay home and healthy.
Like a tree I stand tall, during this pandemic,
Visited by many.
The caregivers, cleaners, guards, helpers, food suppliers, and many.
Some to provide, some to supply from my kitchen.
Strong I stand and visited by many.
For it’s the fight against the pandemic,
They call the coronavirus or Covid-19.
United we stand, stay home and safe,
To support the caregivers, Government and humanity,
To fight the virus.
For the sun to raise brighter tomorrow,
For the sun to shine brighter tomorrow.
While I feel excited to visit the animals and birds in the cage, love them, feed them.
Like a lion caged and yet trained to dance in the circus,
I dance at home, on what they call Tik tok and visited by many.
Like a confined bird, in its society,
I talk to my neighbors maintaining a safe social distance and yet share my kitchen secrets,
Like a pigeon once carried a message to my loved ones on paper,
Now, I carry message to my loved ones only on what they call, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, house party and many.
Like a tree washed in rain for a brighter tomorrow,
I pledge to wash my hands for a safer tomorrow.
Like a tree protected under sheets from the concrete dust,
I protect myself with a mask and hand sanitizer from the virus.
Like flock of birds, thank each other for working together for a meal,
I thank the helpers, caregivers, technology and business persons and many with claps and ring of bells.
Like a tree in the garden, visited by many,
I bring the world to my home, empowered with knowledge and connected by internet of things.
Like a wise tree, I stay home and healthy,
For the sun to raise brighter tomorrow,
For the sun to shine brighter tomorrow.
