Black Magic

a poem by Sundar

Had I anticipated, I might well have posted a sentry
For, no less than an invasion into my heart, was your entry

Decided, I have, to shower my love on you in manifold
Assuring, it would keep you warm even in tropical cold.

Never did I consult my stars, for my judgement to pick
Unaware, I am still, whether it brings good or evil luck

Just to have you now, I can give my past, away
But, without you, I’d be just another castaway

Tell me frankly how, my life, do I amend
To be with you, till our lives, if at all, end.

How, in loving you I’ve forgot what’s logic?
Or, is that you know some kind of black magic?

You’ve taught me that love is divine
With you, I am always on cloud nine

Would you, in my words, ever believe?
That only in your thoughts I re-live
