Voyage

a poem by Sreekanthkopuri

Those lonely midnights
in my room of long silences
when I toyed with my random thoughts
were sweet. But now… standing lonely
and forsaken on the silent shores of my bachelorhood
that I’ll never see again.
The shores there with their eyes
brimming,
waving their hands to me. Now…
I’m in my new boat with my better half
eddying on the billows.
The sea of my novel life,
its ebbs and tides.I sense something somewhere.
Icebergs, snowstorms,
whirlpools, noontides…
Yet…
voyaging through the seasons of life,
with a little lamp of hope hanging
to its mast, making love under
stormy and full moon midnights.
