The path I tread

a poem by Shilpa Gandotra

A simple thing I couldn’t comprehend
Dreams are to be shattered
Life is a rock
Whenever I wished for something, I realized
Life is a shadow, dark and tattered
Darkness darker than the darkest fright.
The forests are thick, ever so lonely
This point in life, I seem to have lost all my might.
What should I gift to others?
All I have is sadness, disgust and anger.
Flowers have bloomed but far away.
I tread my path – carefully.
