Shackled and chained,
I gaze on helpless…
Nay bullets, ‘tis just tears…
Hurts the same, whatever it be.
None to blame,
I jangle and clang.
Nay shoulders, nay hands,
I cry alone, it hurts like hell…
Nerves of steel, a heart quite brave,
Had I these, could steer the pain.
The child in me, my greatest foe,
The day it dies, I’ll be free.
