Not Secularism but Humanism

a poem by Samarender D. Reddy

Let us not talk about God;
Forget and cast aside religion,
When goodness in heart we have not,
Reason clear our minds see not.
Steeped in our ego when we are
Simple things appear to us distorted.
We smile? Yes, we do! But,
Pettiness has long played its dance
On the fragile stage of our face,
Leaving its feature on every wrinkle.
Hatred and falsehood
Have left no place in the heart for love;
Yet we talk about God
And we have our segregating religions.
