Should I Live or Should I Die

a poem by Sam Sebastian

When I was a child, they asked me why
Of the tears of joy, that made me shy
Things have changed, so am I
Worst have come, I can’t lie

Now I am young, I dream of sky
Of the sun and stars, the moonlit sky
Things have changed, so am I
Worst have come, I can’t lie

Looking back, I can see
Something’s wrong in my life
Memories, they haunt me at night
Should I live or should I die

When I was a child, I dreamt of night
Where the angels come and take me to sky
Lost in my dreams, falling to ground
Someone to hold, so I don’t mind

What I am now, nothing to dream
Colour of my life, washed in the rain
Lost in the way, no one to guide
Should I live or should I die

Looking back, I can see
Something’s wrong in my life
Memories, they haunt me at night
Should I live or should I die
