Once I lost a friend dear,
Who was to my heart near,
Then my eyes rolled out a tear,
To find out no one near.

Later I found a friend near,
But scared to make it dear,
As my heart would fear,
Of loosing again a pal dear.

Pal and I spent together a year,
We came close as dear,
My heart began to cheer,
It vanished my fear,
To make a friend dear!!!
