Nature / Time

a poem by Prabindh

Centuries old though she is
Everywhere and nowhere yet
She controls all heartbeats
Like a clear stream on a sunny day
Who needs an introduction to nature?

In this enchanting land where
Time has not returned after creation
Hearing the grass grow and
Birds chirping on the tree top
Fragrances evoke swirls of memories
Fingers of the breeze entwine the body
Delicate flowers swing in the valley
As if to an unheard rhythm
The sun peeps through the clouds
A lone bird races across the skies
The endless stream snakes its way
And mountains open in the morning mist
With all these curves around
How could you think the earth is flat?
Heavy clouds carry the darts
So the bending rainbow can break your hearts
The shy stars emerge from the back of the night
And the moon joins in the chorus.

Memories built over time
Memories of a nature’s child
Etched like reflections on a ponds surface
And refuse to go away.

Such wonderful things surround us
Things that took ages of time
Yet we take them apart in no time
Trading the earth for greed
Isn’t it time we looked back
And introduced ourselves to nature?
