A jaunt through emotions

a poem by Mukul Lukhey

As the train swayed past those languorous crawls,
Leaving behind, Delhi, the City of my Origin,
I tried to find a secluded corner,
A place to be with myself,
Where I could feel all the shades of emotions,
And mind clashing with thoughts,
Thoughts pulling my soul apart,
And the mind pushing it towards Bangalore,
This journey turned out to be
a jaunt of perplexed emotions.

As the time passed in the train,
I steered my way through all these lows,
And as I made a move towards my destination,
Gazing at stars, the sceneries, the drizzle,
And the clouds moving along,
I realized, for the first time,
The meaning of Love, affection, family??
And the hidden silence of all these words,
The language they speak and the message they carry,
And how close they are to one’s soul.

Awake, I lay on the fiery bed,
Looking at the thoughts,
That seem to be changing their course,
With mind defining the aura of thoughts,
And the shades of mood turned bright,
Surprised at this sudden change,
I just stood still, contemplating solitude,
Finding the mind and thoughts in unison,
Reaching Bangalore, my final destination.
