Memories

a poem by Mili

“As the long day curtails into a moonlit night,
As I retire to the privacy of my own dreams,
Thoughts of you await to merge behind a thin gauze of memory,
reliving those moments makes my heart beat skip,
its like my unspoken prayers being answered,
like a wound refusing to heal, heals up,
like my inner muteness becoming verbal.
shortly I find myself gazing upon the
profound emptiness in front of me,
realizing that the person the heart beat was missing,
yet there remains a place in my soul,
where you had once been…
and yes… yes it does ‘cos me to wince even
today whenever I feel it!!”
