A critique of ‘Afterlife’ from an honest Woman

a poem by Mala

Not Shane nor Stetsons
not a diamond pin
nor crafty revellers
in a mardi gras din
can shake the silence within.

Is it really about stringing words
free flights of fancy
and muddled blurbs.

If it is but attention
that’s all you seek…
The situations seems rather bleak.

Grow up young lad
and charm the Bird
with eloquence, elegance and extravagance.

Passion, thought, word and deeds
Yes! All about Knights
On milk white seeds…
Alas! The mould was set ages ago
and sung in epics and Broadway shows.

Too much Hollywood and some celluloid gold
I’m sorry the verse leaves me cold.
