In times of distress

a poem by Juliana Dias

In times of distress,
I think of you
You are the first face,
That passes thru
Why is it so,
I’ll never know
Must be the power,
Of your wondrous glow
Years have passed,
That you have gone
I still remember,
The way your eyes had shone
Your smile which was so dear to me
Has still not left my life and me
You gave me pain,
So hard to keep
You left me alone,
In darkness to weep
Get a hold of you,
I cannot do
Into lifelessness,
Gone have you,
But yet
In times of distress,
I think of you
You are the first face,
That passes thru
Why is it so,
I’ll never know
Could be my Love for you,
That could not grow
As time goes by,
My memory fades
In the walk of life,
New friend I’ve made
But still when,
Days are hard and bad
It’s you and you alone,
That makes me glad.
