Lost in space

a poem by Chaitanya Pragada

I was wondering why you were not in this place,
Until I knew I was lost in space.
The dark heavens made me realize,
Without you, I’m from paradise.
Seeing your face in the distant stars,
I thought I could survive even on mars.
The view of the rings of the lovely Saturn,
Showed me how you changed my life pattern.
Your call from the earth with both hands stretched,
Made me sad, for I’m forever trapped.
There’s nothing other than you that really mattered,
Remember me after my pieces of flesh are scattered.
I am dying here not because of water or air,
But because I couldn’t say to you “I care”.
