Vanity

a poem by Sony Dalia

We build
fortresses, temples, barricades
around a transient, radiant bubble-
ignorance at its best!

We look for
pearls in shallow waters,
oblivious of the oceans,
arrogance at its height!

The earth gives birth,
the sky lends water,
piercing the crust germination,
we do not realise Nature’s grandeur!
