A Blindman’s hue answered

a poem by Jagganathan V

Darkness, darkness is what I’ve known,
It has been ages, which has swiftly flown,
The vision of darkness is the vision of my life,
It is bitter to be wounded by words than a sharp knife.

I can understand what is happening on this mysterious and magical earth;
Even though I cannot see anything, curse my birth,
But I do hear those melodious tunes of nature,
And I don’t bother about the so called future.

When I thought that everything was over in my life,
I came to see this ‘bright’ world with the eyes of my wife;
I do thank ‘God’ for respecting the plea of this creature,
For he was the one who made me understand that I too have a bright future.
