May I invite ye
For a walk with me
In my fullmoon night
To let your fancy take a flight?
May I invite ye
For a chat with me?
I can neither give you a tan
Nor can I help you with your solar pan
But still if you wish I certainly can
In your heart, light an undying fire
For your innermost, fondest desire!
May I invite ye
To my concert of Lullaby?
Near the lake, on the moonlit sand
Where the owl and the cricket play the band
Where you can touch my beams with your hand
And there, like a singing mother to her child
Like a cool breeze to a tired cub in the wild
I will ever so gently close your eyes
To let your sleepy thoughts on my beams to rise
Towards me, the stars, the milky way and beyond
Leaving behind fish, the fishing rod and the pond!
May I invite ye
To spend some time with me…
