Parents’ Meeting

a poem by Shah Pravinchandra Kasturchand

After several years’ absence from earth
My parents awoke from their deep sleep;
Suddenly they remembered I am of worth
And they decided to come down and meet.

I was ready with the members of family,
To welcome them in their very own home.
For they had informed me in that dream
That they are coming to see whole team.

Mother looked at me, her hand on my head,
Father looked at me and smiled a little;
I looked at them steadily, sans emotions,
Children looked at them in all curiosity.

But none spoke, none moved from the place;
Still I felt heavens moved towards earth.
I felt like holding the finger once more,
And go back with them, to heavenly berth.
