You and only you

a poem by Christuraj Alex

What could I tell of you my Lord, Master?
Words can never succeed enlightenment;
All that I have seen and learnt from you are,
Wisdom brim-filling with fresh contentment…

Bread for life you are, indeed, Lord of all,
Holy one, indeed, you are Prince of peace;
King of kings and the great Immanuel,
Messiah, who does all earthly ills cease.

I came to you once like Francis Thompson,
Wasting my dear life in all and sundry;
Repentant just like Mary Magdalene,
You, the heavenly hound hunted for me.

My world! Only you everywhere I see,
Everyone, everything you are for me.
