A bad habit…

a poem by Mahendra

I have a bad habit of doing my job
as if I don’t need it.
For if I need it,
I have to bother about it.
If I bother about it,
I need to marry it.
And…
Marriage…
As you know, how pathetic it is…

Hence
I do my job as if I don’t need it

I don’t bother of the result,
as botheration is in itself a trouble
Suffered, with my habit,
of not to bother for anything,
heavy prices I have paid,
for many things and for many times.

Once I decided to wait and calculate
to see what were my losses and the gains.

I thought I might be a broke,
for the person who doesn’t bother,
what’s there going to be to make him laugh and float?

The calculation showed me
I was millions and millions of dollars in loss.

Just a deep breath, I took
and to myself I said:
“I haven’t paid a single cent
for the unbothered life which I have lived throughout my life!”

I have a bad habit
to do my job as if I don’t need it.
