Dreary Days

a poem by Benna Rao Goli

Landed safely in a desert land
Seeking oasis and green pastures;
At first, life was so wonderful and grand
And adjusted to all including temperatures.

In course of time clouds looked so grey
And heart was filled with dismay;
Pleasant memories started wilting away
And struck with thorns each step of the way.

Every thought of the family brought tears
And mind was filled with great fears;
How to spend days so dreary and gloomy?
How to make the existing life bloomy?

And then I looked up to Heaven
Asking God not to make my life a den;
As I leaned on Him for the healing
He made my life a perennial spring.
