Late Night

a poem by Ameen Kaziyarakam

In the late night
Eyes frozen into sleep,
Lights contrasted into dim,
Time yet to be dawn.

Begger in the street still
Can’t sleep on the top of
Globalization.

Children yelled from ashes of
Crashed houses by fire…
Oh… mom oh… mom…

Sleep well had became
Privilege of someones…
